Built in 1979, Pacific Sunrise is a sailing ship with distinction and elegance. One of our most popular sailing vessels, Pacific Sunrise accommodates a maximum of 17 guests and 5 crew. Shortly Pacific Sunrise is converting cabins and adding another 6 berths to take a total of 23 passengers for a 3 day/3 night dive sail.
The moment you are welcomed aboard Pacific Sunrise you will feel as though you have stepped back in time to a traditional boutique hotel where high levels of service, low guest numbers and an atmosphere of distinction were the norm.
Starting her life as a Fijian built tropical trader, with an overall length of 33 metres (28 metres on deck), Pacific Sunrise is now fitted out as a boutique floating hotel boasting 3 separate deck levels, only 8 guest suites, a maximum of 17 guests and minimum of 5 crew.
The largest suites of any vessel in the region, along with their accompanying ensuites, cabins are the size of a regular hotel suite and fully renovated to a very high standard. Air-conditioned suites vary in size and position throughout the vessel and each one has its own name and features enabling guests to choose the ambiance of their holiday in advance. All suites are equipped with 240v power outlets so you may charge cameras, phones etc. international travelers may require the appropriate adapters.
Built by a master shipwright the atmosphere is further enhanced by the tropical layout and use of a variety of exotic timbers in the construction. The fully functional galley, licensed bar and dining room with seating for all passengers, provides areas for meeting and socialising with other passengers.
Pacific Sunrise will carry you on a journey amongst the heritage listed Whitsunday Islands region of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, as well as to areas of the outer Great Barrier Reef. At these fantastic locations our crew will assist you to snorkel over coral reefs, view marine life from a glass bottom boat, explore tropical islands, beautiful sandy beaches and island rain forest.
Sunday: Depart Abel Point Marina at 2pm for the first night anchorage at a northern island snorkel destination eg. Blue Pearl Bay or Langford.
Monday: Depart early morning for outer Reef where you can snorkel or use the glass bottom boat for activities. Depart in the late afternoon for Whitehaven Beach. Overnight anchorage is Tongue Bay
Tuesday: Morning walk to Hill Inlet look out followed by a sail to the inner islands for an afternoon bush walk.
Wednesday: Morning sail to Abel Point Marina, arrival time is 11am
The essentials to bring on your sailing tour will be toiletries, sun protection including hat and sunglasses, swimwear, beach towels, comfortable shoes for walking and extra cash for on board purchases. Alcohol is available for purchase on board Pacific Sunrise
Your tour includes all gourmet prepared fresh, bed linen, bath towels, air conditioned accommodation, ensuites to cabins, snorkelling equipment, sailing experience, stinger/sun protection suits, water kayaks and experienced, friendly crew.
Dan and Sue Baker have been involved in the Maritime Industry for 30 years, 70 operating in the Whitsundays. They have owned and operated Pacific Sunrise since 2006.
