Luke and Tristram Mairs are proud to present their latest Whitsunday experience aboard ‘Blizzard’, a purpose built high quality sailing yacht that
combines real sailing performance and true comfort. She was built in 2011 for the brothers to be the ultimate Whitsundays sailing yacht. Below
decks she features 5 cabins, 3 bathrooms and a stylish saloon. Above decks a large shaded area provides comfort without sacrificing sailing
ability. The brothers first started sailing overnight tours of the Whitsundays in 2002 and formed the company ISail Whitsundays in 2007. They
have a true passion for sailing, water sports and all things aquatic. To sail aboard one of their boats is much more than just a tour, it is a unique
adventure experience and all those who sail their boats are considered as new friends rather than just passengers.
Islands whilst avoiding the crowds. Sail with us and experience the Whitsundays from the perspective of a sailor. Your experienced skipper will
sail you to Whitehaven Beach, spectacular bays and the best snorkelling locations. The colourful corals and most abundant marine life are
close to the surface, so all one needs to do is put on a mask and snorkel to be amazed by the underwater world. At night the boat will be safely
anchored in a calm bay allowing you time to socialize or just relax under the stars of the southern sky.
Blizzard is more than just a sailing tour. Onboard she has the coolest water sports equipment. There is no better way to explore a serene
Whitsunday bay than on a paddle board. Standing up gives you a superior perspective allowing you to see fish, turtles, the contours of the reef
or eagles soaring above. The feeling of being out there, just you, a board and a paddle, is a special experience. For a taste of the extreme learn
to fly a power kite and body drag. Add the Bond factor to your trip with the latest underwater sea scooter and glide effortlessly through the water
like the legendary secret agent. Sail on board Blizzard and experience the waterman (or waterwoman) lifestyle.
Sail More and See more:
Sailing has come along way since the olden days, the latest boats sail
easier and faster. Better sailing performance means Blizzard uses the
sails more and the motor less. Blizzard is one of the few whitsunday
vessels to carry a spinnaker sail, allowing sailing when the winds arenʼt
so strong.
Snorkelling:
Bllizzardʼs crew are keen snorkelers and know all the best spots.
Guests can either swim to the reef from the boat or be taken in our 30
hp Inflatable rescue boat. A guest/crew ratio of 5:1 means everyone
from advanced snorkelers to 1st timers are well catered for. We
snorkel at least 2 of the best whitsunday reefs and spend plenty of time
at them.
Whitehaven Beach and the lookout:
The highlight of many guests trip . We do our best to make sure our
whitehaven experience is the best it can be. More often than not we
can find a section of whitehaven beach all to ourselves far away from
the other boats. We spend at least 2 hours at this queen amongst
beaches and get the lookout at the best possible tide.
Stand up Paddle boarding.
Blizzardʼs co - owner Luke Mairs was introduced to stand up paddling
by an old friend 3 years ago and straight away saw the potential for it
on his whitsunday tours.
“ Itʼs addictive, there is a pleasure which comes from been on a paddle
board that is indescribable. Standing up paddling is heaps more fun
than siting on the soggy floor of a kayak and because of your higher
perspective you see way more too”
Sea scooter.Who hasnʼt watched a James Bond film, as the legendary
special agent zooms about underwater on his sea scooter, and thought
Mmmmm “I could do that”. Well now is your chance.
Our top of the line Bladefish scooters allow the experienced snorkeler
unknown freedom to dive amongst the coral and fishes or can provide
the weakest swimmer with ability in the water they never thought
possible.
Power KItes.
There is nothing wrong with siting on the beach with a book.
But its not for everyone. Active guests can get a taste of what
kitesurfing is all about. We start off on the beach learning about the
power zone and the wind window with smaller kites, then progress to
bigger kites and body dragging through the water. This is amazing fun
that provokes ear to ear smiles even on wet days.
